The Role We are looking for an experienced senior supervisor/ assistant manager to assist in leading our small team and take over some day-to-day store operations, allowing the founder more time to develop the business. The ideal candidate will slot right into TGM’s way of working, offering exceptional customer service in an incredibly welcoming style. With previous experience of managing, or assisting in the management, of a speciality coffee shop they will be confident to hit the ground running, leading the team throughout the day and jumping straight into all aspects of the business, making TGM somewhere they are proud to work while helping to grow and develop the business. We’re also looking for someone to fit a multi-functional role. There will be a necessity from time to time to fill kitchen baking and food prep. Duties when required.

Day-to-day duties will include: Asist in the management of the store, the team and the customers; Serving customers and leading the team to ensure a consistently high standard across the board; Opening and closing the space; Operating & programming the epos system; Ordering, stock management/stocktaking & supplier management; Team management including recruitment and staff rotas; Leading/training the team – identifying skill shortages and looking at ways to increase the wider skill set in a fun, engaging and beneficial way; Maintaining, formulating and devising H&S policy in line with the stores HACCP; Ongoing maintenance/cleaning of the store on a daily, weekly and monthly basis; Maintaining a clean working environment; Responsibility of the space and encouraging a positive working environment for the whole team that is fun to be a part of and gets the job done.

You The right person for this job is proactive, a natural problem solver and prepared to get their hands dirty. A warm, outgoing personality who will bring a positive attitude to each task no matter how big or small. You will feel comfortable managing a small team and collaborating with the founder and other team members including the Kitchen Team. You will take pride in the opportunity to work for a small independent business with room to grow.

We are looking for a motivated team member who is passionate about hospitality, serving a quality product with excellent attention to detail. Highly skilled in the preparation, making, and serving of delicious food and drink and a natural ability to manage workflow in a hospitality setting.

Essential qualities we are looking for: • A natural leader with experience in managing a small team & a passion for hospitality • Friendly and welcoming personality with positive and hard-working attitude and exceptional customer service • Excellent attention to detail – be that in administrative tasks or simply setting the store to open each morning • Excellent time management and organisation – a multitasker who can go from making a customer order to ordering from suppliers or stocktaking at any time • A problem solver, who thinks logically and calmly in any given situation • Thorough knowledge of H&S legislation & practices (including allergens) in a hospitality setting, with experience of implementing and managing relevant procedure • A hands-on approach where no job is too small and keen to get stuck-in to all aspects of the business • First class coffee skills and the ability to train others • Understanding of the P&L in a hospitality business • Keen to take responsibility in the day-to-day business operations • Good banter and up for a bit of fun • Computer literate – email and excel integral • Fluent in spoken and written English and the eligibility to work in the UK

The icing on the cake would be: • Previous experience/keen interest in food preparation • Food safety and hygiene training • First Aid training
