Profile

You have solid production roasting experience coupled with strong organisational skills, are solutions-focused, results-driven, and detail-oriented. You have a passion for quality, a thirst for knowledge, and a drive toward growth and business. You possess excellent communication skills with an ability to lead, coach and support others.


Create Impact

  • Take responsibility for overall day-to-day roastery operations, periodically reviewing all operational processes and systems to ensure a robust operating programme that delivers on our core ethos and product.
  • Act as a gatekeeper by overseeing the maintenance of product quality from start to finish, including but not limited to:
    • Q.C.
    • Analysis of production roast consistency
    • Presentable environment and finished product
  • Demonstrate leadership and project management by planning and delegating tasks necessary to ensure successful product launches, including but not limited to:
    • Working alongside COO (2x Roasting UK Champion) to profile and evaluate new coffees.
    • Collaborating with core team to communicate and distribute all necessary data and info for product description (e.g., tasting notes, process).
    • Working with marketing and COO to ensure planning of:
      • Product roadmap
      • Printing of material
      • Official product release on website/socials
      • Relevant dates and deadlines for sites and wholesale
  • Maintain stock listings on website and order space.
  • Communicate any necessary information to sites apropos the new product.
  • Take responsibility for all H&S within the roastery, in coordination with the team, always ensuring compliance and addressing any issues in a timely manner.
  • Oversee all maintenance equipment logs, maintenance schedules and testing for all equipment. Ensure the roastery is in compliance with external parties as per guidelines.
  • Understand and work toward KPIs and P&Ls, working alongside the COO to ensure the roastery runs in line with budgets and goals.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers to ensure orders are received and dispatched according to the order fulfilment plan and be on hand for any customer queries.

  • Lead by example by modelling professionalism through creating and sustaining a strong team ethic and instilling high standards across operational and financial goals.
  • Provide regular reports to Senior Leadership on all operational matters, and demonstrate initiative, identifying both issues and opportunities alike, and pitching potential solutions.
  • Manage stockholding onsite (coffee, boxes, bags, labels, etc.) to ensure operational fluidity and stability.
  • Plan weekly schedules for all areas of operation:
    • Roasting
    • Q.C.
    • Packing
  • Liaise with importing partners to arrange, track, and facilitate the release, delivery, and management of green coffee stock, as required.
  • Coach the roastery team toward success by working with them to identify relevant goals and measurables, and provide constructive feedback on their performance.
  • Provide a welcoming experience for new team members by recognising their successes as well as providing supportive direction as needed.
  • Cultivate a positive and proactive culture, where goals are achieved through communication and teamwork.

Grow With Us

  • Work closely with the COO regarding sourcing and green planning by regularly assessing and providing green coffee stock levels to identify range gaps, as well as roasting any samples requested.
  • Promote growth by managing labour performance, labour costs, and COGS, balancing the need to meet targets whilst sustaining growth.
  • Ensure sustainability through profit by managing stock levels according to times of business, and product range according to local tastes, whilst minimising waste.
  • Demonstrate initiative by identifying both issues and opportunities alike, and pitching ideas and solutions.
