As a Café All-Rounder, you will play a key role in the daily operation of the café, ensuring smooth service while also supporting the training and development of our learners. This role requires a balance of hands-on café management, mentorship, and a commitment to upholding health and safety standards. 50% Café Operations | 50% Training Learners

  1. Café Operations (50%) Supervise and coordinate daily café activities, ensuring efficient service and high standards. Support team and Café Managers, addressing operational needs and staff supervision when needed Support food and beverage preparation to maintain quality and consistency. Ensure the café is always clean, organized, and well-stocked. Manage stock inventory and coordinate supply orders with the Café Managers. Allocate staff efficiently according to the daily rota and operational needs Customer service Deliver outstanding customer service, handling inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally. Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for customers, ensuring a positive café experience. Train and guide café staff on customer service best practices, ensuring consistent service standards. Motivate and support the café team, ensuring high morale and effective teamwork. Health & Safety Maintain strict compliance with food safety, health & safety, and hygiene regulations. Conduct regular inspections on cleaning, temperature records, HACCP, food labeling, and shelf-life monitoring. Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals and adherence to hygiene protocols. Train learners on food safety and allergen awareness, ensuring they understand key procedures.

  2. Training and Supporting Learners (50%) Mentor, support and train learners in their daily café stations/tasks, ensuring they gain practical skills in a supportive environment. Work closely with the Programme Coordinator and Skill Coaches to monitor learner progress, provide feedback, challenges, and achievements. Adapt training approaches to meet individual needs, fostering patience, empathy, and encouragement. Create a structured yet flexible learning environment where learners feel supported and empowered. Ensure that learners understand key aspects of food safety, allergens, hygiene, and customer service. Providing weekly feedback to Programme Coordinator on development of learners

Experience: at least 2-3 years experience in the hospitality, events, or retail industries. working in a cafe setting with good food and beverage knowledge some experience demonstrating team coordination and leadership under managers’ guidance Ideal previous experience working with people with learning disabilities but not required.
